Minutes of H&F Cyclists meeting, 5 October 2010 at Julie Askins' house.

Present: Julie Askins, Paul Saunderson, Susie Gretz, Lucy Purkess, Sammy Anouer.

Apologies: John Griffiths, Ayse Kardes, David Marsh.

Items discussed and proposed:

1. Dr. Bike: We proposed using some of the H&F Cyclists funds to pay for a new Dr. Bike service, to be held monthly in some central point, e.g. Shepherds Bush Green - to supplement the Dr. Bike sessions already held the first Tues. each month in front of Hammersmith Town Hall.

2. This runs from 9:30-3:30, with the first two hours dedicated to Council employees' bikes belonging to a private company. Ideal - but perhaps too complicated? - would be a monthly Dr. Bike, e.g. on a Saturday, shifting from one location to another in the Borough, e.g. at community centres, which would be especially good for young people and children.

3. Our website (viewed at end of meeting; Sammy and Lucy - new members - felt it wasn't bad, but could stand improving; all felt it is more important than a newsletter. [ http://www.hfcyclists.org.uk ] We proposed discussing the idea of putting our information on Facebook/Twitter at the Nov. meeting.

4. Cycling problems: David Marsh wants us to complain to the Council about a decomposed stretch of bike path in Shortlands, one of the turnings off near Talgarth Road near the Novotel - where someone recently fell off a bike. We agreed to report on this to the Nov. meeting and hopefully ask David and/or look at the site in the meantime.

5. Other cycling problems as described on recent emails: We decided to raise these at the next meeting.

6. Julie distributed flyers for World Homeless Day; she is organising a picnic on the day - Sunday 10 October at Victoria Tower Gdns. (little park between Houses of Parliament and the bridge) and urges everyone to come.

End of the meeting!

Meeting chaired by Susie Gretz, who also wrote up the minutes.
